media: graphite, conté crayon, oil stick, chalk pastel, acrylic and spray paint. It measures 3 feet wide by 5 feet tall. This is my solution to the assignment of creating a life size self-portrait-- larger than life size if a full figure was not being rendered. The self-portrait aspect could be an abstract or realistic self-representation. Choice of media was up to the artist. You might notice that the previous image in this album is a thumbnail that I based this final off of. Gives you a little idea of how an idea progresses from "conception" to "birth." I definitely felt like I had given birth when I finally finished this piece. I prefer leaving its interpretation up to the viewer. The large scale makes the image rather striking, so in such a small format it loses something. At some point I will probably post a picture of myself with it to give a better idea of scale.
