media: vine & compressed charcoal and black conté crayon on stonehenge paper. It measures 24" wide x 17.75" tall. I like to ask what people think this object is before telling them. It has a lot of the visual characteristics of a tree branch, but it's actually an antler. My favorite parts about this drawing are the different textural details, the curve of the far right point of the antler, and how the shadows fall in a way that frames the shape of the antler instead of replicating it. Hopefully you can see the details well enough in the picture.
